About Worlds Together
I created Worlds Together to meet two challenges I've seen in education
#1
Talented educators struggling to teach a population diverse in language, background, and skill levels.
#2
Schools and students viewing diversity as an obstacle rather than an asset, and as a result, failing to live up to their incredible potential.
I have travelled the world and seen multiculturalism at its finest, not its finest, and everything in between. I know what it is like to take classes in a language in which I'm not fluent. I know what it is like to be a teacher in a foreign land. I have seen how understanding cultural differences can lead to huge gains in learning outcomes. I have also seen how collaboration among educators can make miracles happen. That's what I want to do, pave the way for professional teachers to help each other make miracles to happen in the lives of their students.

I have taught in public, private, and charter schools, and I currently teach international students at Presbyterian College and work with PC faculty on how best to support their international students. Teachers and professors are experts in their field; I help them impart their knowledge in the most effective way possible to students at all language and ability levels.
For Schools & Districts
Concerned your schools don't have the tools they need to meet the diverse needs of your student population? Feel stuck between the demands of the federal and state departments of education, and the desire to support your teachers and students?
IÂ Can Help
Your students will thrive in an environment where they feel safe and celebrated in all their diversity. To reap long lasting rewards, the whole school must develop a multicultural mindset and have that cultural shift prioritized and reinforced consistently throughout the year.

Through workshops, coaching, and access to educator groups, I will support your schools’ transformations into awesome communities where your special services teachers will work closely with their mainstream colleagues, all your teachers will be confident in accommodations & scaffolding, your students will believe in their own abilities, and your schools‘ multicultural identities will become their superpower.

For schools with international teachers, I will help you develop a sustainable structure to support your teachers in and out of the classroom and set them up for a successful experience for themselves and their students.

For Teachers
Exhausted trying to plan for and teach students at hugely different levels of literacy and academic skills? Desperately wanting to help them all, but feeling like you just don’t know how? Are you overwhelmed by unrealistic expectations? Feel like you've been set up to fail?
IÂ Can Help
I will give you practical tools that make it easy and satisfying to scaffold, modify & accommodate. Many of these are tools that are taught to ELL and SpEd teachers, but those teachers have a limited amount of time to spend with each student, and the students are in your classes for the majority of the day, so they need your help!

What I will not do: I will not give you a new curriculum or software, and I will not require you to do more work. In short, I will not be putting more on your plate.
Instead, I will help you get the most out of the tools you already have and show you efficient and effective ways to meet and exceed the standards and obligations already required of you.
I offer coaching, supportive teacher groups, professional development workshops, and learning modules to help you become the teacher you strive to be.
For ELL & SpEd Teachers and Interventionists
Frustrated because you know what your students need, but you don’t have the resources or hours in the day to do it all? Overwhelmed with all of your responsibilities from teaching, to testing, to paperwork, and wish you had the whole school pulling in the same direction when it comes to supporting your students?
IÂ Can Help
I can work alongside you as you become the coach your teachers need, so that when your students are not with you, they are still learning and thriving in your colleagues’ classes.
I will give you the support you need to advocate for resources and time for your program with administrators.

I will give you step-by-step practical guidance to move your school away from a disability view of multilingual students and students with complex needs, toward a celebration of them and of all they bring to school culture.

I offer coaching, supportive teacher groups, professional development workshops, and learning modules.
